About the role

Asina is an NDIS provider supporting people across NSW from our office in Armidale. New England is where we began and where most of our participants and practitioners are. As the region grows, it needs a leader who lives here, knows the town and can run the region day to day without waiting on head office.

This is a working manager role. Roughly three days a week you are leading: rostering, coaching, quality, recruiting, relationships with families and support coordinators. Roughly two days a week you are on the field: covering shifts when someone is sick, running shadow shifts with new starters, doing meet and greets with new participants. You will know every participant in the region by name and every worker by their strengths.

You report directly to the founder, who started Asina on the frontline and still works shifts. You will have real authority over the region and a direct line to the person who can say yes.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the team. Roster, coach and support a team of disability support practitioners. Run supervision and team meetings, handle leave and availability, and make sure every worker is trained, cleared and confident before they are on their own.
  • Stay on the field. Work shifts each week, cover gaps at short notice, shadow new starters with participants, and lead meet and greets. You set the standard by doing the work.
  • Own the participant relationship. Be the first call for participants, families, nominees, support coordinators and plan managers in the region. Onboard new participants, build their support plans, and review them as their needs change.
  • Keep the region compliant. Incidents, complaints, restrictive practice reporting, worker screening, document expiries and shift notes. Know the NDIS Practice Standards and Code of Conduct well enough to teach them.
  • Grow New England. Build relationships with local support coordinators, allied health, schools and community organisations. Recruit local workers who fit, and keep the roster strong enough to say yes to new referrals.
  • Run it in My Asina. Scheduling, shift notes, timesheets, invoicing, compliance and the Action Centre all live in our own platform. You will use it every day and shape how it improves.

What you’ll bring

  • At least three years in disability or community services, including a year or more leading, coordinating or supervising a team
  • Working knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards, the Code of Conduct and the SCHADS Award, and the judgement to apply them under pressure
  • Rostering and incident management experience, and the calm to handle a 6am sick call and a family concern in the same hour
  • Genuine comfort delivering support yourself, including personal care and community access
  • A driver’s licence and a reliable, insured vehicle
  • Confidence with digital tools. We run the business on the My Asina app, not paper
  • Right to work in Australia

You’ll stand out if you have

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Disability, Community Services, or Leadership and Management
  • Experience with positive behaviour support, complex needs or autism-informed practice
  • Existing relationships across New England: support coordinators, allied health, schools, local services
  • Experience growing a service or region, and the numbers to show it
  • Lived experience of disability, or in your family

Mandatory clearances

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain before commencement
  • NSW Working With Children Check
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module, completed before commencement

What we offer

  • $95,000 to $110,000 a year plus 12% super, aligned to SCHADS Level 5 to 6, with a vehicle allowance, phone and laptop
  • Full-time, permanent, with paid annual leave, personal leave and long service leave under the SCHADS Award
  • Real autonomy over the region and a direct line to the founder. Decisions do not sit in a queue
  • A base in Armidale, with the flexibility to run your week around participants and the team rather than a desk
  • Shared on-call with the management team, so you are not the only phone that rings
  • The My Asina platform for everything: scheduling, shift notes, compliance, invoicing, the Action Centre and your own team dashboard
  • Asina Academy training plus paid external professional development, including leadership and NDIS quality training
  • A growing company. We are building regional teams in Newcastle, Tamworth and the Blue Mountains, and the people who lead them come from roles like this one
  • A team where your feedback changes how things run, because you will be the one running them
